6th Annual Midwest Summit to take place @ the University of Michigan (February 5th-6th)

Save the dates folks!  Plans for the 6th Annual Midwest Hip Hop Summit have been set in motion.  This time around, the theme will be “Hip Hop Activism and Social Justice: exploring how Hip Hop can change communities and our world”.  This year’s Summit will also partner with the Allied Media Conference and the U.S. Social Forum to help explore how Hip Hop activism can create social change.

The weekend-long event kicks off Friday February 5th at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and will go through Saturday, February 6th.  The event begins Friday with the usual epic concert featuring performances from some returning acts from last year, as well as some additional surprises that will soon be announced.  Last year’s show included performances by Little Brother, K’NAAN, OneBeLo, Invincible, The ReMINDERs, Alex Schein and others.  Expect nothing less than a stellar line-up like this one from this year’s upcoming summit.

Saturday will include the return of the highly regarded panel discussions and element workshops including session for all four elements (Breakdancing, DJ’ing, Emceeing, Graffiti).  Guaranteed, this will be the best Hip Hop summit in the Midwest yet!  Stay posted for more details.
